The Science and Technology Organization is NATO's collaborative research body, coordinating thousands of scientists across allied and partner nations through technical panels and working groups that shape shared standards and pool defence research. It funds collaboration and access rather than issuing commercial contracts. Ukraine takes part as a partner nation, so a Ukrainian team engages by joining an STO activity alongside a member or partner research group.
